Kay Wheatley -- Norwich Dance Instructor
I started Egyptian dance under the expert tutelage of Lorraine Theobold.
Lorraine has continually encouraged and supported me throughout the time I have been dancing and performing. It was Lorraine who gave me the confidence and opportunity to start my own dance class. I have now been teaching Egyptian dance since 2011.
Continuous Professional Development
Over the years, I have attended many dance workshops and master classes. Those that I have found particularly inspirational are: Zaza Hassan, Yousry Sharif, Jillina, Virginia, Aziza, Serena and Hossam Ramzy, Nawarra, Tito Seif, Khaled Mahmoud and Aida Nour.
In 2016 I took part in 'Cairo Carousel' organised by 'Farida Dance'. I enjoyed a week of intensive training with top Egyptian dance professionals Yasmina of Cairo and Mohammed Kazafy. My training culminated in a stage show in Newcastle.
In 2017, I took part in 'Egyptian Experience'. This was another intensive training week, again hosted by Farida Dance and on this occasion taught by Egyptian dancer and mentor, Sara Farouk.
I have travelled to Cairo to undertake private lessons with Aida Nour, Yasmina of Cairo, Dandash and Hassan Saber. I am also planning a further trip to Cairo towards the end of this year for more private training. I enjoy the challenge of keeping my professional dance knowledge up to date.

"Egyptian dance is a beautiful and feminine dance form. Dancing is a great way to have fun whilst exercising. It's great for increasing stamina and overall flexibilty and suppleness."
